Meet the St. John's Family
We love welcoming children and young families into worship each week during the 10 am service.
There is a carpeted children’s area in the south aisle of the church with small furniture, quiet toys, books and craft materials; this space is available for parents and very young children during the services, enabling the whole family to stay in church for worship.
Once a month children come with their parents or carers to Messy Church at 3.30 on Sunday afternoons, offering crafts on a theme, songs, a story, prayer and then afternoon tea together (see Events for dates). On the second Sunday of each month we hold an all age service at 10 am, with songs, prayers, and a talk suitable for all ages.
A serving community
We run bible study groups from time to time. Ask us for details. There is also plenty of learning material on the Church of England website at: https://www.churchofengland.org/faith-life/what-we-believe

Music is important to us at St John’s. We have a robed choir, who sing at our 10 am service every Sunday, and a Gospel Choir, who sing at the same service once a month, and occasionally at events elsewhere. Both choirs welcome new members. There is organ music and singing at both our Sunday services.
We hold Thursday lunch-time concerts at St John’s at 12.30 pm. These are usually once a fortnight and details are on our events list. Refreshments are available from 11.45 am. Attendance is free but there is a collection on the way out towards expenses. (The weekly summer concerts from 10 July to 18 September are separately organised and refreshments are not available.)
Every Wednesday and Saturday from 12 noon to 3 pm we welcome everyone in to talk, ask questions, look around, pray and share in refreshments. This event is run jointly by St John’s and our local Roman Catholic Church, Our Lady and St Thomas of Canterbury.
St John’s is also open to everyone on Fridays from 12 noon to 2 pm. Come and pray or look round, or talk to our volunteer stewards.
We collect for the Harrow Food Bank. You are welcome to make donations of suitable food when the church is open (there is also a collection point at the Tesco Superstore on the corner of Station Road and Hindes Road). Please note that we do not distribute food: this is done by Harrow Foodbank in various nearby places, to people who have obtained Foodbank vouchers: see the Harrow Foodbank website.
Would you like us to pray for you? If so, please come to the font area at the end of the 10 am service, where our people will pray quietly with you.
